How to stop/limit spam webforms

Jarrod Jan 04 2021 at 05:05

Our sites all seem to be getting hammered by spambots. They are getting anywhere from 2 to 8 webforms a day that are spam.

We have Recaptcha installed and this doesn't seem to help, they just bypass it.

And before you ask, the spam forms that are filled in aren't redirected to the thank-you page, which suggests it some sort of bot and not a real person.

Also, these sites weren't getting spammed on the old platform (BC and Webflow) and it only started when we moved them across to PlatformOS.

So I think we may be implementing Recaptcha incorrectly.

Can anyone shed light on how we can fix this? I'm copping a lot of heat from clients.

Thanks Jarrod

Can you specify which version (2 or 3) of recaptcha are you using?

We're using version 2. We have tried version 3 but found it was timing out before peole had completed the form. So any advice on this would be good.
